Lucanus cervus
Lucanus cervus

Found this really Big Stag Beetle sitting on a treetrunk of an old dying Oak. It is the biggest I have ever seen alive. I estimate it to about 7 to 7,5 cm in length. As a comparison, my index finger is about 8 cm long.

There are some small ant running around on the Stag Beetle. They help a little to grasp the size of this monster.
