This rather rare Austrian species is known from Persia and Turkestan via southern Russia to southern Europe and the south-eastern Central Europe.

If you follow the Link to Inaturalist you can see that this Lixus also has been found in Germany and the South of France.

The species is found on Salsola and Atriplex plants, both of which are growing in salty areas.
